Center for Conservation and Biodiversity at UConn
The Center for Conservation and Biodiversity was established by the University of Connecticut Board of Trustees in 1993 as a cooperative effort between the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History, and the Geological and Natural History Survey of the Connecticut State Department of Environmental Protection.
Our mission is to protect the diversity of life through education, training, and research in ecology, evolutionary biology, and systematics—disciplines that are the foundation of sound conservation practice. One of the primary goals of the Center is to provide financial support for graduate student training in ecology, evolutionary biology, and systematics.
